After twenty years, are we entering a new era, or are we returning? Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami have united once again for a re-edition of their multicolored collection (2003). On January 1, 2025, the fashion house released its collection with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. The first collaboration, under the creative direction of Marc Jacobs, became one of the best-selling collections in the fashion house's history. This collection was revolutionary because it blended high fashion and pop culture in a way never done before. It generated huge sales, particularly among younger, fashion-forward consumers drawn to the playful, artistic designs. With the re-coloring of their signature monogram canvas, Murakami reimagined the brown and gold canvas with 33 radiant colors.
The multicolor canvas wasn't the only statement of this collection, Murakami also created the Flower motif. The flower, with its smiling face and cartoon-like design, was featured prominently on many of the pieces.
Alongside these notable designs was the Cherry Blossom. The Cherry Blossom design featured Murakami’s iconic smiling flower motif with soft pink cherry blossoms integrated into the pattern. This design was one of Murakami's many playful takes on the classic Louis Vuitton monogram, combining his distinct pop-art aesthetic with the traditional luxury of Louis Vuitton.
The re-edition of the collection holds Zendaya as the face of the campaign. Releasing over 200 pieces, the collection feels like a blast from the past with famous leather goods, bags, footwear, and accessories. It wouldn't be a Louis Vuitton X Takashi Murakami collection without the Monogram multicore but that isn't all. The re-edition includes the Superflat Panda and the Superflat Garden and its smiley flowers.

They know their audience and are using nostalgia as a marketing tool. Of course its working and of course its gong to sell. Im definitly not knocking it... They got the biggest IT girl, too points for that.
We are returning with a modern twist and I LOVE it!
